Our mission is rooted in the conviction that mental health and wellness care should be accessible, affordable, and relevant for all communities.

Our Story

AYA-Innovation was founded on a deep commitment to transforming mental health care across Africa.

Our founders, Dr. Yared Alemu, Dr. Hermon Amare, and Mr. Patrick Ohiomoba, witnessed firsthand the lack of accessible, affordable, and culturally relevant mental health and wellness resources. Their shared vision was clear: harness the power of technology to close the care gap and empower individuals to take control of their well-being.

Motivated by this vision, our multidisciplinary team, comprising experts in AI, psychiatry, psychology, medicine, and health equity, set out to create a scalable and inclusive solution. Together, we built AYA-Innovation, a pioneering platform that delivers stigma-free, AI-enabled mental health and wellness tools tailored to the needs of underserved and marginalized communities.

Transforming Mental Health

AYA-Innovation is building the infrastructure to support Africa’s next generation of care through AI-driven platforms and trauma-informed training. From ClarityConnect, our digital care coordination system, to Clarity AI, our voice-powered chatbot for emotional screening, we equip providers to deliver real-time, personalized support at scale.

Through partnerships with local and global organizations, we train wellness coaches, strengthen hospital systems, and empower communities with the tools to address trauma, chronic disease, and emotional stress, especially for those carrying invisible wounds.
